A Day in the Life of a Sleep Consultant

What does it look like to be a sleep consultant?

Let me show you! Drop your worries about working from home or managing your own clients. Not only do we teach you how to do this in Sweet Sleep Academy, we’re here to help you step into your new role as seamlessly as possible.

From waking up and checking my schedule, making some consultation calls over coffee, and checking to see what’s happening in the sleep consultancy world, the best part of my day is I’m in complete control!

I often say that this profession doesn’t really feel like “work” because I enjoy it so much, and this is still true today, ten years later! However, as a business owner, you do of course need to treat your business like “work.” Otherwise you won’t be successful and have the time you need to get things done.

This is why structuring your day is SO important to the success of your business.

Here’s an example of my typical day as a Sleep Consultant:

7-8.30 am Time with family (no phones or computers on)

8.30-9 am Log on and start organizing and prioritizing tasks (I also do this the night before)

930-10.15 am Answer and catch up on emails

11 am-2.30 pm Calls/meetings, social posts, and 1:1 consultations with clients (with short break for lunch)

2.30-3.30 pm Wrap up day and prioritize tasks for following day

I have recently started to end my days at 3.30pm in order to spend more time with my family, and because I CAN! How awesome is that? I am disciplined enough to work my butt off in the seven hours that I am working so that I don’t have to work until 5pm everyday and miss out on that time with my kiddos.

Does becoming a sleep consultant sound like a dream to you? We’re here to help!

In Sweet Sleep Academy, you are not just learning how to “sleep train” babies. We believe there are many important roles in pediatric sleep, which is why we take a holistic approach. We look at the whole picture of pediatric sleep rather than simply one or two parts.

We’ve worked hard to develop a fully rounded curriculum approved by The Association of Professional Sleep Consultants. We also want you to graduate with all the tools needed to be a successful Sleep Consultant.

Our program begins with teaching you the history of sleep consultancy before moving into an in-depth understanding of the impact of positive and negative pediatric sleep spread out over ten modules. By the time you’ve finished, you’ll be able to identify sleep associations, pediatric milestones, disruptors, best habits, and more!

Once you know the ins and outs of every aspect of sleep, cycles, and influences, we’ll move on to the business end. Our instructors, Rachel and Lauren, teach you how to work with clients, coach parents in developing successful sleep patterns, how to structure your business with packages, and how to grow your work through marketing, relationship building and more.

Our team is so passionate about sweet sleep that we cannot wait to introduce you to our world! Are you curious about becoming a Sleep Consultant and embarking on a new career? DM us for more information!
